Somalis Dancing on TikTok
Watching TikTok and seeing the proliferation of videos of Somali American women dancing I quickly realized this was in response to the idiot Trump's racist monolog deciding the whole Somali American community. These videos of Somalis joyously dancing to modern Somali folk rock fusion music belies everything Trump accuses them of. It also led me to a conclusion that is important. If one looks at all of the non-white cultures whose communities are daily threatened by Trump's ICE gestapo, one will see video after video of music and dance vital to their cultures. It creates a question of how can these beautiful exhibitions of cultures that are now part of the broad American palette could be considered not as any threat but as a clear proof that we need these cultures to make us the nation that leads the world. It is proof of the fact that diversity, equity and inclusion are our only way forward.
Look at them, enjoy them, revel in the beauty that being a polycultural nation creates. They are all Americans no matter what other culture that name is hyphenated with. If America is to be great then we need the tapestry that will to be proof of our greatness includes all of these bright lively and joyous vignettes. So please, watch them and hit the heart at the least​. Believe me Trump and his minions will notice. So will the dancers. Rock on in every cultural way - keep on rockin' in the free world.
